No profit association Art Rock Café has spearheaded a project for training inmates in the art of pizza making.
In Padua, Progetto Margherita 2000 has offered a 50-hour course, in a 2 month period, to 12 inmates.
Held in a fully equipped workshop within the premises of Circondariale di Padova, it has
provided the participants with full theoretical knowledge and practical skills to create both traditional and original pizzas and to be able to, once released, enter the workplace with
professional confidence and pride.
At the end of term ceremony, prizes were given to the most original creations.
Khalfi Mourad won the first prize with his pizza topped with dates, as a hommage to his native
land, and Antonio Abbot Ricar won the best presentation prize, by building a little wooden vessel to
hoòd his pizza.
